Refining

At Refine Au, we refine precious metals, particularly gold, in our own plants. By obtaining different sources of raw materials from mining companies, pre-owned jewellery, used industrial materials, our professional staff and state-of-the-art facilities conduct the process of refining pure gold up to a standard of 999.9%.

Equipped with Aqua Regia Gold Refining Plant, Refine Au is able to always adhere to international safety standards. Safety is our top priority when it comes to producing precious metals. The modular machinery offers flexibility and efficiency in the following processes:

Recycle

E-waste suppliers deliver the used computers and keyboards, mobile phones, medical equipment and electronic board. Adhering to the rules of responsible sourcing, Refine Au requires its suppliers to expand sources of e-waste so as to reduce environmental pollution caused by pre-owned devices.

Consumers who have discarded their e-waste to responsible collectors can place their trust in us to recycle and reproduce their old devices into something valuable in the future. Their used items are in our safe hands to be remade into something useful.

Old jewellery items collected at pawn shops and from consumers can also be remade into gold bars.

Fire Assay

With both fire assay and ICP in-house laboratories, Refine Au’s machinery controls all materials in a rigorous manner. Discrepancies of weights prior to and succeeding the melting process will go through a tedious analysis and justification.

Chemical analyses are also available at Refine Au's own laboratories. This is to ensure that we monitor all procedures and outsourcing is strictly prohibited.

Such analyses help determine amount of precious metals in each lot. The results are guaranteed by our professional assayers in accordance with Malaysian laws regarding production of precious metals. Investors and buyers can rest assured that we always follow the laws and international standards in our process.

We need to go through the process of fire assay to examine the content and purity of precious metal in the samples. From original sample and isolated precious materials, some techniques might be adopted during the steps of the process. With a heating up to over 1000°C, samples are heated with other compounds including lead oxide. The metals would then be disassociated by the sample. The metals are blended with the lead and covered molten glass (slag) containing base materials and contaminants. Cupellation is what disassociates the metals.

ICP

As a top player in the industry, Refine Au is proud to be the first Malaysian company to have brought in ICP machine from the United States of America to detect and measure elements. Analysis of chemical samples can also be done by the Inductively Coupled Plasma machine. The technology helps Refine Au analyze and produce precious metals according to international standard.

The first ICP machine imported into Malaysia helps Refine Au to conduct simultaneous and sequential analysis of multiple elements. The process of analysing of high-matrix samples is smooth and stable as chemical and ionization interference is largely limited and controlled.

The ICP also provides accurate content and purity level of gold as well as other precious metals. We make good use of recent technological advances to analyse refined metals and standards.
